The University seeks to recruit applicants with requisite qualifications, skills and experience for the following posts in the Innovation and Business Development Unit
TECHNICAL ENGINEER (1 POST)
Applicants must have a BENG/BSc degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent plus at least two years of post-qualification experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities will include the following:-
- Supporting the engineering team during planning, design and development, of prototypes.
- Coordinating with other Engineers and team members
- Performing quality control on all projects, writing reports, and making recommendations for improvement.
- Creating a culture required for innovators to experiment; with the right resources at the right level to support that experimentation.
- Working with both internal and external partners assisting them on technical issues.
- Overseeing Innovation Hub equipment and maintenance.
- Communicating with stakeholders on requirements and outputs.
- Identifying, analysing, and evaluating mature and transition technologies to satisfy emergingrequirements.
- Support SMEs/researchers develop design drawings.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in the use of design software like Solid Works, and AutoCAD
- Experience in engineering design.
- Experience in simulation and modelling.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence
- Experience working as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and collaborate with others.
