The University seeks to recruit applicants with requisite qualifications, skills and experience for the following posts in the Innovation and Business Development Unit
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (1 POST)
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields and a Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, computer science, and or related fields. Minimum of two years of software development experience would be an added advantage. Excellent skills in coding and programming languages. High level appreciation of developments in Artificial Intelligence and the forth Industrial Revolution.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities will include the following:-
- Working collaboratively with other departments or stakeholders.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to developers and the implementation team on the software development life cycle.
- Creating a culture required for innovators to experiment; with the right resources at the right level to support that experimentation.
- Working with students and their supervisors to develop prototypes from identified research projects.
- Identifying resources necessary for research, prototyping and testing,
- Leading and directing different cross-functional projects of varied sizes and types.
- Engaging new clients seeking to develop new innovative software applications/ products.
- Leading in MoU/MoA-based innovative research software projects.
- Organising and facilitating Hackthons in the SDC laboratory.
Key skills:
- Understanding product development, and digital transformation experience.
- Good mentorship & coaching skills.
- Proven experience in leading development teams.
- Professional software development experience.
- Extensive experience in developing, deploying, and integrating software solutions.
- Good understanding of Artificial intelligence
