Sales Lead || Mukuru

In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the development and execution of our national sales strategy, provide strategic guidance to regional sales teams, and ensure alignment with our organizational goals.

You’ll play a crucial part in training and mentoring sales supervisors and agents, optimizing marketing collateral, and enhancing brand awareness. Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

Formulating and Implementing Sales Strategy:

  • Coordinate the implementation of growth and brand strategies within assigned regions.
  • Ensure alignment of sales activities with overarching objectives, meeting registration, conversion, and agent effectiveness targets.
  • Lead activations and drive marketing campaigns within the designated region.
  • Develop sales approaches, scripts, and messaging for campaigns, maintaining custodianship of the Mukuru brand.

Sales Team Management:

  • Conduct periodic audits of sales agent sites to ensure compliance and performance standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to Regional Sales Supervisors and Area Leads in executing their responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with HR and Sales Department Management to resolve staff issues and escalate queries as needed.

Sales Agent and Supervisor Recruitment, Training, and Onboarding:

  • Identify potential new agents and engage with approval from the Sales Lead.
  • Facilitate training sessions for new and existing agents in alignment with Training Lead’s requirements.
  • Assist in onboarding new agents, including device setup and system walkthroughs.

Monitoring Agent Performance and Coaching:

  • Monitor individual team members’ performance and set targets.
  • Lead weekly team meetings to discuss product performance and coach sales supervisors towards achieving stretch goals.

Manage Marketing Collateral:

  • Maintain and manage stock of marketing collateral to ensure availability.
  • Assist in generating marketing collateral with approval from the Sales Lead.
  • Coordinate distribution of branded materials to agents and retail sites.

Conduct Inspections and Audits:

  • Conduct periodic country tours of agent sites and perform brand audits of partner and vertical sites.

National Sales Budget Management:

  • Develop and monitor budgets for sales activities and marketing materials.

Generate Reports and Manage Professional Development:

  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports for review by the Country Manager.
  • Attend monthly KPI meetings with Line Manager and complete required compliance and product training courses.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in sales, with a track record of achieving targets.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience, demonstrating leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of KYC guidelines Expert
