Job Title: Sales Executive – Telecommunications & Connectivity Solutions

Role Overview
Guava Africa is seeking a highly driven and strategic Sales Executive – Telecommunications & Connectivity Solutions to lead the expansion of our telecom infrastructure services. This role is pivotal in scaling last-mile connectivity, wholesale bandwidth sales, and enterprise ISP partnerships.
The ideal candidate will identify and develop underserved markets, engage with key telecom players, and structure commercial deals that drive revenue while expanding access to affordable internet across Zimbabwe.
Key Responsibilities
- Bandwidth & Last-Mile Connectivity Sales
• Develop and execute sales strategies for wholesale bandwidth (fibre, LTE, microwave) targeting ISPs, enterprises, and MNOs.
• Build and manage partnerships for last-mile solutions (FTTH, Wi-Fi hotspots, fixed wireless) targeting SMEs, schools, and residential customers.
• Onboard tower companies, fibre operators, and wireless ISPs to improve network coverage. - Telecom Infrastructure Partnerships
• Negotiate peering, IP transit, and infrastructure-sharing agreements with providers such as Liquid, Dandemutande, TelOne, and Powertel.
• Collaborate with MNOs (Econet, NetOne, Telecel) for co-location and bandwidth resale opportunities.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities (ZINX, POTRAZ) to ensure compliance and enhance routing efficiency. - Enterprise & Wholesale Customer Acquisition
• Identify and pursue high-bandwidth clients including banks, cloud providers, fintechs, and large corporates.
• Design customised bandwidth packages with SLAs for corporates, ISPs, and data centres.
• Develop revenue-sharing models with local Wi-Fi operators and community networks. - Market Expansion & Competitive Positioning
• Analyse broadband infrastructure gaps and position Guava Africa as a cost-effective last-mile provider.
• Monitor competitor pricing strategies and adjust offerings to maintain competitiveness.
• Explore satellite internet opportunities (e.g., Starlink resale, VSAT) to serve rural and underserved communities. - Revenue Growth & Deal Execution
• Secure strategic, high-value contracts with ISPs, MSPs, and public sector entities.
• Design flexible pricing models, including subscriptions and pay-as-you-go solutions.
• Integrate offerings with Guava Africa’s fintech services (e.g., bundled internet with airtime-based payments). - Reporting & Performance Monitoring
• Track and analyse KPIs such as bandwidth utilisation, ARPU, churn rates, and customer satisfaction.
• Provide insights on infrastructure ROI, expansion feasibility, and regulatory compliance.
• Submit regular performance and sales reports to the Managing Director.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, ICT, or Business Management from a recognised Zimbabwean institution (e.g., University of Zimbabwe, NUST, HIT, MSU, or Africa University).
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in B2B telecom sales, bandwidth reselling, ISP service delivery, or infrastructure partnerships.
- Professional certifications (e.g. Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Huawei HCIA, CompTIA Network+, or PMP) are an added advantage.
- Experience working with telecom providers, ISPs, or MNOs in Zimbabwe or Southern Africa.
- Strong understanding of POTRAZ regulations and Zimbabwe’s broadband and internet ecosystem.
Key Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of fibre optics, wireless connectivity, and last-mile delivery technologies.
- Exceptional negotiation and partnership development abilities.
- Ability to craft commercial deals that balance profitability and connectivity expansion.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of SLAs, QoS, network uptime, and enterprise IT service delivery.
- Results-driven with a deep appreciation for digital inclusion and infrastructure development.
