Equals Solutions is a FinTech company that provides digital consumer credit management solutions to
institutions. The company offers a comprehensive set of automated, insight-driven services to help
financial institutions achieve the digital transformation of the consumer credit management journey.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the Product Owner post.
The Job
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the successful candidate will among other things be
responsible for:
Driving the development and implementation of our credit/lending products, ensuring that they meet
the needs of customers while achieving business objectives. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver
high-velocity shipping of new features and products that effectively solve customer problems and
generate value.
Duties and Responsibilities
Market Research and Competitive Analysis – understanding lending industry trends,
customer needs, and competitors’ offerings, conducting comprehensive market research and
competitive intelligence analysis, identifying market gaps, opportunities for innovation, and
potential synergies, providing actionable recommendations and insights, and ensuring products
meet compliance and regulatory requirements.
Product Strategy and Vision – defining and implementing a product vision and strategy
aligned with company goals, developing a comprehensive strategy and product roadmap based
on customer needs and trends, translating the product strategy into a roadmap with key
milestones, and supporting go-to-market strategy and successful product launches.
Discovery and Business Requirements – conducting discovery sessions to uncover
problems and opportunities, gathering and prioritizing product requirements from stakeholders,
developing customer journey maps and soliciting client feedback, and collaborating with
Business Analysts to translate business objectives into detailed product requirements, user
stories, and technical documentation.
Product Development – leading the end-to-end product development process, from ideation
to launch, prioritizing the product backlog based on customer and strategic value, and actively
participating in agile ceremonies to refine the product roadmap.
Product Delivery and Quality Assurance – ensuring successful delivery of high-quality
lending products, conducting user acceptance testing and organizing acceptance testing for
new features, preparing and conducting system demonstrations to stakeholders, and
collaborating with cross-functional teams for execution and timely delivery.
Product Management – defining and tracking KPIs to measure product success, measuring
and communicating product performance post-launch, and monitoring product performance to
propose enhancements based on data-driven insights.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement – encouraging innovation and driving ongoing
improvements, evaluating product release performance, conducting retrospectives for product
enhancements, and recommending improvements, and fostering a culture of innovation, digital
transformation, and automation initiatives.
The Person
The ideal applicant should possess the following minimum qualifications and attributes:
• A bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Banking and Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management.
• Proven track record as a Product Owner or in a similar role within the FinTech or Financial Services industry. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in credit/lending products.
• A Product Owner certification such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and product management principles.
• Proficiency with product management tools, including JIRA and Confluence.
• Knowledge of UI/UX principles and product design is advantageous.
• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Results-oriented and metrics-driven mindset, with a bias for action and a commitment to radical ownership.
• Ability to thrive in a high-performance culture.
