What we expect from you.
- Respond promptly to network incidents, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions as per the incident management guidelines.
- Implement the Virtual Private Networks with 3rd parties, test and certify all new network configurations, deployments and security mechanisms.
- Document and align physical and logical network diagrams and architecture for the core and branch networks, and the network IP addressing structure.
- Knowledge of designing and implementing network architectures suitable for banking environments, including WAN, LAN, VPN, MPLS, and SD-WAN technologies.
- Undertake capacity management and monitor network parameters and metrics to inform future plans
- Maintain an up-to-date technical inventory for all networking hardware and software assets.
- Administer the internal and perimeter security devices which include Cisco Firepower Threat Defense, Checkpoint firewalls, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances, Proxies, Sophos, Web and Email Security Appliances (WSA & ESA)
- Undertake comprehensive security patches and upgrades on network devices
- Monitor the health of the Production and Disaster Recovery Network Infrastructure.
- Undertake VOIP network segmentation, setup, troubleshooting and resolve incidents.
- Strong appreciation of network automation technologies (e.g., Python, Ansible) to streamline network tasks.
- Manage Cisco’s DNA Center (DNAC) for centralized network automation, assurance, and analytics.
- Implement redundancy protocols such as HSRP (Hot Standby Router Protocol), and VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) for router failover.
- Strong understanding of data center NEXUS switches and technologies eg implementing and troubleshooting of VPC redundancy technology.
- Explore software-defined networking (SDN) solutions for automation.
- Managing and monitoring ISE (Identity Service Engine).
- Proven experience and ability to implement and troubleshoot BGP, EIGRP and OSPF routing protocols.
Qualifications, Skills and experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution
- Certification in Routing and Switching and Security (CCNA Routing & Switching, CCNA Security, CEH or equivalent), CCNP, CCSP, CISSP, CCNA, CEH or equivalent
- ITIL Foundation
- 3 Years’ experience in computer networking in a WAN environment
- Good Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.
- Cloud certifications are an added advantage.
