MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR: UZ VN HOTEL AND LEISURE PVT LTD (1 POST)

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to:
 Participate in the planning for the hotel and implementing the approved UZ Inn
strategy
 Participate in the budgeting and review process
 Develop a budget for the Inn’s maintenance section and implements and monitors
approved budgets
 Responsible for explanation of monthly variances and implementing corrective
action
 Responsible for drawing up and ensuring implementation of the scheduled
preventative maintenance plan
 Conduct scheduled and ad hoc maintenance
 Conduct routine and ad hoc maintenance checks on premises, plant and equipment
 Check the daily report on requests from inspections on all rooms for maintenance
issues
 Carry out maintenance works and effectively allocates duties and ensures work is
completed to specific standards providing a 24 hour service to the hotel
 Make requisitions for the purchase of major materials and spares for maintenance
for approval by the Inn Manager
 Ensure that all required items and spares are stocked in stores
 Implement and review cost control measures and ensures the appropriate usage of
spares and supplies
 Ensure that adequate quotations of best supplier and contractor are sourced in
liaison with the buyers
 Inspect all hotel vehicles to ensure standards of up keep are maintained and that
they are serviced and repaired accordingly in liason with Inn Manager and UZ
Transport Manager
 Check on consumption of electricity, water and implements effective controls on
usage
 Responsible for the fire team and conducts fire drills monthly, trains staff on fire
hazards, checks fire equipment and ensures that it is properly serviced and is always
functional with guidance from Asset Protection Services Unit
 Responsible for the evacuation procedure and contacting the Fire Brigade for
assistance
 Conduct routine check on fire hazards
 Responsible for the preparation of the fire report
 Prepare monthly maintenance and financial reviews reports
 Conduct physical checks with Storeman on all items for maintenance in stores
monthly
 Carry out major refurbishments, repairs and maintenance works. Supervises and
works in liaison with Support Services Technical and EIE teams and external
contractors
 Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team.
 Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficiency-enhancing
initiatives.
 Collaborate with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary spare parts and
materials.
 Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements in
maintenance management.
 Carry out duty management
 Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Inn Manager

Qualifications and Experience

 Degree/HND in Technical Engineering – Electrical/Plumbing/Refrigeration.
 A minimum of 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Maths.
 A certificate in Supervision/Management
 A’ Level passes will be an added advantage.
 At least 2 years experience as a Maintenance Supervisor/Senior Technician at
reputable establishments in the Hospitality Industry/Institution
