GUEST RELATIONS/SALES AND MARKETING OFFICER: UZ VN HOTEL AND LEISURE

Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:
Handle guest complaints
Ensure that guest comment forms are filled in and kept in a file and analysed and
disseminated to service departments/sections
Make follow up communication with all guests that would have stayed at the
hotel and keep a record.
Identify guests with special events eg birthdays and anniversaries and organise
presents for them.
Identify sick and bereaved clients, organise get well soon packages and
condolence message notes.
Ensure checking In and out of VIPs.
Prepare VIP packages and inspection of VIP rooms.
Initiate exciting activities for guest check- ins.
Assist the reception desk when it is busy.
Handle site inspections
Ensure that guest information directories are updated timeously in liaison with
the Inn Manager and Marketing department.
Ensure cross selling of UZ Inn and UZ Catering Services products and ensuring
availability of collateral materials.
Ensure co-ordination of group check – ins, introduce yourself to conference
organizers and keep in touch with them daily until end of conference.
Identify long stayers and organize them letters and VIP packages on a weekly
basis.
Be the hotel lizard by talking to guests in the reception area, verandah and front
gardens.
Take down guest concerns and ensure corrective action is done immediately.
Initiate activities to drive the sales and marketing contributions to the Inn’s
revenues through turning potential business into actual sales that can be
measured.
Report any irregularities or unusual circumstances to Management
Carry out any other official duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Public Relations/Sales and Marketing/Tourism and Hospitality/Hotel
and Catering operations
At least 5“O” levels including English Language.
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar environment
Working knowledge of system
