Applications are invited to fill the position of Food & Beverage Outlet (Restaurant) Manager
at the recently, newly branded Hyatt Regency Harare The Meikles.
THE SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB.
The Food and Beverage Manager will function as the Business Manager and Marketing Specialist for the outlet. To ensure that the outlet operates successfully, by the standard of the Hotel and that the outlet is profitable.
MAIN DUTIES SHALL INCLUDE:

Operational:
· To ensure that the minimum brand standards have been implemented whilst responding to the results of the Consumer Audit and applying relevant changes.
· To frequently monitor service and Food/Beverage standards in the Outlet, whilst conducting frequent and thorough inspections with the Chef de Cuisine in order to take corrective actions where necessary.
· To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all Food and Beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend Food/Beverage combinations and upsell alternatives.
· To regularly monitor the Hyatt Guest Satisfaction Survey report and to ensure the minimum benchmark scores of the Consumer Audit are achieved. To regularly analyse the results of the Consumer Audit, prepare and implement appropriate action plans, geared at constantly improving the results Year on Year.
Financial:
· To maximise employee productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling of tasks to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests whilst ensuring that the outlet is operating in line with maximising profit while delivering on the brand promise.
· Assists in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan for Food/Beverage department.
· To ensure that all sales are properly recorded, following prescribed procedures for issuing, voiding or correcting outlet checks.
· Ensures that all Hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
· To ensure that Micros database for the outlet is always up to date and maintained clean, according to set standards.
Administration:
To ensure that the Food/Beverage activities in the Outlet are aligned with the respective Hyatt Regency Harare, The Meikles corporate strategies and that the Hotel Actions have been implemented where appropriate.
Other Duties shall include:
To respond to changes in the Food and Beverage function as dictated by the industry, company and Hotel.
Exercises responsible management and behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel management team and Hyatt International.
To maintain strong, professional relationship with the relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners and other organizations.
The successful candidate:
A Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management from a recognised institution.
A minimum of three years of work experience in a similar position at a ‘Five Star’ Hotel –
a must.
Work exposure, for example in properties around the region and/or cruise ships will be an added advantage.
Membership in a ‘professional organization or association’ would be very commendable.
