Equals Solutions is a FinTech company that provides digital consumer credit management solutions to
institutions. The company offers a comprehensive set of automated, insight-driven services to help
financial institutions achieve the digital transformation of the consumer credit management journey.

The Job
Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the successful candidate will among other things be
responsible for:
Overseeing the design, development, and implementation of data systems and infrastructure. You will
play a critical role in managing and optimizing data pipelines, data visualization, ensuring data quality,
and enabling efficient data processing and real time analytics.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Data Architecture and Design – overseeing the design and architecture of data systems and
infrastructure to support the organization’s data processing and real-time analytics vision.
Developing data models, schemas, and storage solutions that adhere to business requirements
and industry best practices.
• Data Pipeline Development – managing the development and maintenance of data
pipelines, ensuring efficient extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various
sources into storage systems. Additionally, implementing data visualization dashboards and
reports using tools like Apache Superset, Grafana, and Microsoft Power BI.
• Data Integration – collaborating with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate data
systems and enrich the organization’s data assets by integrating third-party data sources, APIs,
and external systems.
• Data Quality and Governance – ensuring data integrity and accuracy by establishing quality
standards, validation rules, and governance policies. Proactively identify and address data
quality issues through implementation of monitoring mechanisms and quality checks.
• Performance Optimization – enhancing overall system performance, scalability, and
efficiency by optimizing data processing and storage systems. This involves fine-tuning
database queries, optimizing ETL processes, and implementing caching mechanisms to
enhance data retrieval speeds.
• Problem Solving – troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to data
infrastructure and systems, including identifying and addressing bottlenecks, performance
issues, and scalability challenges.
• Collaboration and Communication – engaging in effective collaboration with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders to comprehend requirements and provide solutions aligned
with business needs. Additionally, communicating technical concepts and solutions to nontechnical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
The Person
The ideal applicant should possess the following minimum qualifications and attributes:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field is an added advantage.
• Certifications in related technologies is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a data engineering role.
• Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data architecture, ETL
development, data integration and data warehousing.
• Proven experience in report generation (csv, Excel, PDF) and data visualization (Apache
Superset, Grafana, Microsoft Power BI).
• Expertise in data engineering technologies such as SQL, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache
Kafka.
• Strong knowledge of at least one programming language preferably Python or Java.
• Proven experience in working with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL) and non-relational
databases (MongoDB, Redis, Hazelcast, Apache Druid).
