ZOU FM CAMPUS RADIO TECHNICAL MANAGER (1POST)
Job Description
The incumbent will report to the Director, Radio Campus
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical
- Overseeing the audio and visual production process;
- Working with the Director to oversee the completion of projects and ensure that all technical needs are catered to;
- Provide an efficient working atmosphere to campus radio teams and ensure objectives are met within the stipulated timeframes;
- Ensure teams follow the correct procedures, policies, and documentation requirements across campus radio phases;
- Able to guide the team through the development, testing, and implementation stages and review the completed work effectively;
- Provide direction and technical expertise in design, development, and systems integration.
- Able to make quick decisions and solve technical problems to provide an efficient environment for project implementation;
- Identify resource and equipment requirements, efficient capacity planning and manage software and hardware availability;
- Must provide technical training to teams when required and serve as a technical mentor to team members.
- Management
- Ensuring that all day-to-day operations of the station are running smoothly and efficiently;
- Overseeing a team of employees, assigning tasks and shifts, and ensuring that everyone is working together harmoniously;
- Handling customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner;
- Maintaining excellent communication with senior management, keeping them updated on the status of the station;
- Staying up to date on industry news and developments, as well as changes in broadcasting industry trends;
- Ensuring that standard operating procedures and project guidelines are in place;
- Ensuring that the station is compliant with industry-specific and national regulations.
- Keeping the station clean and organized, both inside and out;
- Developing and implementing marketing and promotional campaigns for the station.
- Planning and executing special events at the station;
- Training students and new employees on the policies and procedures of the station;
- Conducting performance reviews of team members and identifying areas of improvement, give feedback, and recommend remedial action;
- Preparing project budgets, coordinating with the finance department for funds, and planning for purchasing equipment and hardware in a cost-effective way;
- Managing and mentoring interns.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A post-graduate degree in Broadcasting/Telecommunications/Journalism/Radio or Television production with 3 years’ experience in a leadership role, with 2 years in a management capacity or related field;
- Master’s degree in Broadcasting, Telecommunications/Journalism/Radio or Television Production or a related field with 2 years’ experience in a leadership role, with at least 1 year in a management capacity will be an added advantage;
- Proven track record of success in managing people and projects;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organizational and time-management skills;
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Experience in the broadcasting industry;
- Familiarity with Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe regulations;
- Working knowledge of broadcast equipment and software
