Job Description

The Group Marketing Executive is responsible for the development of strategic marketing and communications solutions to meet brand and Group objectives underpinned by strong leadership of the marketing and communications departments to achieve value-added solutions to all stakeholder groups.  The incumbent will execute comprehensive strategies that integrate marketing, communications and corporate affairs.

  • Role Description
    Drives the marketing, communications and public affairs and business plan and targets aligned with overall business strategy.
  • Aligns the marketing, communications and corporate affairs strategy  planning processes with the Group business planning process and provide timely input. Provides detailed input and assists in the development of group and business units’strategy.
    Oversees the implementation of all internal and external communication plans in consultation with Business Units.
  • Supports the GCEO and the business unit Executives in driving strategies that enhance the company’s public image, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develops and implements marketing plans for customer segments and ensures that marketing strategy/business plan and targets are aligned with overall Group and business unit strategies. Coordinate marketing initiatives, communications, and public relations to align with Group and business unit objectives, such as supporting product launches with comprehensive marketing campaigns and communication plans.
  • Spearheads an integrated digital marketing strategy and the embedment of the integrated Financial Services (IFS) strategy.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities within the financial services sector.
  • Analyze customer insights to inform and enhance product development and enhance marketing strategies.
  • Formulate a sustainability strategy for the function that aligns with the Group’s overall sustainability strategy. Develop and monitor relevant Key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement measures to track progress. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and campaigns.
  • Engage with customers, partners, and the community to raise awareness about the Group’s sustainability effors.
  • Prepare regular reports on the progress and impact of sustainability initiatives within the marketing function reflect non financial and financial impacts of the initiatives.
  • Oversee the ethical / responsible marketing of all Group products and services, ensuring compliance with sustainability standards and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Promote transparency and honesty in all marketing communications
  • Accountable for all core internal and external communication channels to government and industry affairs, and community engagement.
  • Develops and executes the strategy for management of the Corporate Affairs; group’s social media strategy and presence; provides oversight and guidance on all enterprise-wide announcements.
  • Develops and implements corporate social responsibility strategies  in support of the overall corporate brand.
    Manages OMZIL’s relationships with all government bodies,  regulators, media/journalists, advisors and stakeholders on all political matters.

Qualifications and experience:
Bachelors’ Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration,  Public Relations, or a related field.

  • A Masters’ Degree in any of the above disciplines or an MBA is an added advantage.
  • At least 10 years ‘experience, in Marketing Communications, Corporate Affairs, at Executive level
  • Experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and community organizations in a multinational organization is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing, communications, corporate affairs, and sustainability strategies.
  • Experience in managing public relations, media relations, crisis communications digital marketing, social media, content marketing, and branding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and narratives.
  • Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in marketing, communications and corporate affairs.
  • Strong networking skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and partners

Marketing

Implement the organization’s marketing strategy.

Leadership and Direction

Communicate the function’s strategy and its relationship to the organization’s mission, vision, and values; clarify the actions needed to implement this strategy within the area of responsibility; motivate people to commit to the mission, vision, and values and do extraordinary things to achieve the organization’s business goals.

Horizon Scanning

Identify new external developments and/or emerging issues within an area of technology or business function and evaluate their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.

Marketing Impact Assessment

Define appropriate metrics, assess activities, and recommend improvements based on metrics and analyses.

Marketing Campaign Development

Manage a portfolio of campaigns (advertising, promotion, other marketing) and negotiate service-level agreements to ensure successful campaigns and value for money. Plan, coordinate, and supervise activities relating to major campaigns.

Brand Positioning

Lead the development of the brand positioning within the overall brand strategy and articulate the desired brand positioning to the business.

Product Management

Take responsibility for all aspects of a life cycle of a group of products, including long- and short-term development and marketing. Stay abreast of trends in the marketplace to ensure the products’ competitive position.

Information and Business Advice

Provide authoritative specialist advice to senior managers at the business unit or regional level to enable the implementation of policy, projects, and change initiatives.

Performance Management

Manage and report on performance within the department or area of responsibility; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.

Budgeting

Manage budget plans for a department. May involve development or delivery or both.

Organizational Capability Building

Evaluate the capabilities of staff within the department to identify gaps and prioritize development activities. Implement the organization’s formal development frameworks within the area of responsibility. Coach and mentor others to support the development of the organization’s talent pool.
