Job Summary
We are seeking a hard-working and reliable Workshop Mechanic to join our team in the Service
Centre Section. You will participate in a variety of projects, following mechanical plans and
instructions from the site supervisor.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities as the Mechanic will include but are not limited to:
• Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems;
• Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records;
• Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary;
• Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements;
• Inspect machines, engines, transmissions and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality
issues;
• Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability;
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner;
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems;
• Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components;
• Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery;
• Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine and
vehicle users;
• Keep logs of work and report on issues.
Qualifications, experience and Competences
• Possession of a Diploma, Certificate, Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanics;
• A minimum of 2 years’ proven experience as a Mechanic;
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems;
• Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement
tools (e.g. callipers);
• A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines;
• Very good physical strength and stamina
