Qualifications and Experience
The positon requires an individual with:-
PhD in a relevant field. Professorship grade will be and added advantage;
A strong understanding of academic publishing peer review processes;
Exceptional leadership skills and commitment to uphold the highest standards of
academic research;
A minimum of five editorial and or peer reviewing experience in academic publishing; and
A demonstrable record reviewing for, and/or publishing in academic publications.

2 SUBJECT INFORMATION SPECIALIST (2 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
The positon requires an individual with:-
Master`s Degree in Librarianship, Information Science and Knowledge Management
or a related field
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:
Contribute to Collection Development and Management of the Library Collection
Recruit and upload knowledge products on UZ eScholar and other Digital platforms
Provide quality control for catalogued resources
Perform quality control for metadata of research outputs on the digital platforms
Provide scholarly communication support to the assigned Faculty and Researchers
Create and deliver Information and Digital Skills (IDS) content for the assigned Faculty
Market and promote information and knowledge products to faculty members
Promote access to electronic resources and use of reference managers
Provide library and information services in line with international benchmarks and standards
Develop monitoring and evaluation tools to track usage of Library products and services
Regularly review and update content on the Library website to ensure it meets user needs
Represent the Library in Faculty meetings
Monitoring performance and conducting performance appraisals for staff in the assigned Unit
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
May be redeployed to any Library section as and when required
3 ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (1)
Qualifications and Experience
The positon requires an individual with:-
Bachelor`s degree in Business Administration or relevant field;
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Proven experience as an administrative or office admin assistant;
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures; and
Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).

The successful candidate must be able to:
Providing comprehensive support to the editorial team
Managing daily office operations and ensuring efficient workflow
Handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and assisting with the preparation and distribution of publications
