Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of a Training Manager based in Harare.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences, Business Administration or equivalent Diploma in Training and Development.
  • Member of the Institute of People Management Zimbabwe.
  • Minimum of 2 years  experience in Learning and Development or Human Resources preferably in Oil or FMCG Industries.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to supervise and develop staff.
  • Clear verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to prepare accurate reports.
  • Ability to plan and organise in line with job requirements.
  • Ability to analyse and solve work related problems to achieve the correct outcomes. Ability to interact, negotiate (where applicable) and achieve targets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates training needs identification, development and implementation of training programs for the organisation.
  • Develops the Training OPEX budget for the organisation.
  • Draws an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations.
  • Advises and liaises with managers as well as supervisors on how they can contribute to the training and development of their subordinates considering immediate and long-term staff requirements.
  • Monitors and evaluates training programmes effectiveness, performance success and return on investment periodically and provides recommendations for improvement.
  • Develops the annual training calendar for the organisation.
  • Contributes to the development of professional job competencies, multi-skilling and career development of staff in all the Departments consistently through skills analysis reviews to ensure availability of adequately skilled workforce.
  • Facilitates employee training program within the organisation.
  • Identifies and engages third party consultants and professionals.
  • Evaluates instructor performance and effectiveness.
  • Assists in implementing, maintaining and reviewing a performance management framework which facilitates goal setting.
  • Informs performance development, planning and providing sound basis for performance appraisals for all staff.
