Compilation of ZINECDA-Commissioned Research into a Single Publication
Background
The Zimbabwe Network of Early Childhood Development Actors (ZINECDA) is committed to
advocating for the advancement of Early Childhood Development (ECD) policies and practices
across Zimbabwe and the broader Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.
Over the years, ZINECDA has commissioned various research studies to inform advocacy efforts,
policy development, and program implementation. To enhance the impact of these studies,
ZINECDA seeks to compile the findings into a single comprehensive publication that will be
distributed to stakeholders at key meetings, such as regional conferences, policy forums, and
advocacy events.
Objective of the Publication
The objective of this publication is to consolidate the findings, recommendations, and insights
from multiple research reports into one cohesive document. The publication will serve as a key
resource for policymakers, advocacy groups, researchers, and other stakeholders working on ECD
in Zimbabwe and the SADC region. It will aim to:
1. Present the findings from various ZINECDA-commissioned research in a clear, accessible,
and coherent manner.
2. Highlight actionable recommendations for improving ECD policies and practices.
3. Provide a basis for advocacy efforts during key meetings and stakeholder engagements.
3. Scope of Work
The consultant/firm responsible for compiling this publication will undertake the following tasks:
1. Review all ZINECDA-commissioned research studies, reports, and documents. These may
include policy briefs, evaluation reports, research papers, and case studies related to ECD
advocacy and policy development.
2. Extract key findings, themes, and recommendations from each research document,
ensuring alignment with ZINECDA’s advocacy objectives and the current ECD landscape.
3. Propose and agree on the structure of the publication in consultation with ZINECDA. This
should include sections that summarize research insights, recommendations, and
implications for policy and practice.
4. Draft the publication, ensuring clarity, coherence, and readability. The document should
be tailored to a diverse audience, including policymakers, educators, ECD advocates, and
international donors. Use infographics, tables, and other visual aids to enhance
understanding where necessary.
5. Ensure the publication is professionally designed, with appropriate formatting, layout,
and branding in line with ZINECDA’s guidelines. The design should be visually appealing
and user-friendly for printed and digital formats.
Deliverables
The consultant/firm is expected to deliver the following:
• A detailed outline of the publication for ZINECDA’s approval before drafting.
• A first draft of the compiled publication for review and feedback.
• A final version of the publication, incorporating feedback from ZINECDA.
• Print-ready and digital versions of the final document, formatted for distribution.
