Students Off Campus Life Coordinator (1 Post)
General scope of the Job:
The Students Off-Campus will be responsible for the welfare, support, and engagement of Bindura University of Science Education students residing off-campus. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless and supportive experience for a significant portion of our student body, fostering their academic success, personal development, and overall well-being.
Reporting Structure
The Off Campus Coordinator reports directly to the Dean of Students.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Education or a related field;
- At least two (2) years’ experience in student affairs, student housing, community engagement, or a similar role, preferably within a tertiary education institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and programs to support the academic, social, and personal success of off-campus students;
- Serve as a primary liaison between off-campus students, the University, and relevant external stakeholders (e.g., landlords, community organizations);
- Provide guidance and resources on housing, transportation, safety, and community integration for off-campus students;
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels to disseminate vital information to off-campus students;
- Organise and facilitate orientation programs, workshops, and events tailored to the needs of off-campus students;
- Address grievances and concerns raised by off-campus students, mediating conflicts where necessary;
- Promote a sense of community and belonging among off-campus students through various engagement initiatives;
- Stay abreast of best practices and trends in off-campus student affairs.
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing student support programs;
- Strong understanding of student welfare issues and a commitment to student success;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills;
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and external stakeholders.
