STUDENT AFFAIRS DIVISION
1.1 Manager: Student Development Services (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
The positon requires an individual with:-
Holders of Bachelor`s Degree in Education or Social Sciences with a Bias in
Administration
At least a Master`s degree in Social Sciences/Education or similar field and
At least five (5) years experiences in student development role
Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to:-
Ensuring effective and efficient programming and management of the following Units
in the Division of Student Affairs: Student Residential and Logistical Services, Disability
Support Services, Health Delivery Services, International Students Support Services,
Postgraduate Support Services
Production of the University`s Student Support and Welfare Policy and facilitation of
environment that is conducive for students to learn and growth;
Ensuring effective communication with students, particularly before they begin their
studies and at the beginning of the year, to ensure they are aware of Student Support
and Welfare Services, before they enrol and or before they commence subsequent
semesters;
Developing Student Support and Welfare programs that foster growth and
independence, as well as ensuring their implementation, evaluation and review;
Facilitating the recruitment and supervision of Student Support and Welfare
personnel;
Liaising with the corporate sector for support in offering Student Welfare Services,
Especially in the area of student aid and psychosocial support;
Facilitating induction process for new students and continuing students to ensure a
smooth transition from high school into the University;
Establishing effective mechanisms for ensuring quality for the Student Support and
Welfare Services arrangements in the University, including mid-semester surveys
through the University Quality Assurance and Professional Development Directorate;
Ensuring smooth running of the student ecosystem, creating opportunities for
enriching communal living;
Conducting research on that guides policy and best practice in student support and
welfare
1.2 Officer: Career Development and Advisory Services (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
The positon requires an individual with:-
Bachelor`s degree in Psychology, Counselling or relevant area
Msc in Counselling or Clinical Psychology and must be a registered Psychologist
with a current practising certificate with the Health Professions Council of
Zimbabwe
Relevant experience working with young adults in a university environment will be
an added advantage
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:-
Coordinates policymaking and implementation of student psychosocial support
services across campus;
Coordinates campus wide counselling and advisory services to students and stuff;
Plans effective student psychosocial support intervention programs for students;
Coordinates career expos in schools and on campus, providing career guidance to
prospective and University students;
Mobilise corporate support in running student career development programmes
and activities;
Offering training to Faculty Advisors and Peer counsellors;
Networks with relevant local and international organisations for purposes of
keeping abreast with best practice on the global stage;
Conducts research and opinion surveys on psychosocial issues affecting students;
Services the Graduate Employment Committee, and
Carries out any other duties as delegated by the Dean of Students
1.3 Officer: Student Residential and Logistical Services (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
The positon requires an individual with:-
Applications must be holders of Bachelor`s Degree in Education or Social Sciences
with a bias in Administration
At least a Master`s degree in Social Sciences/Education or similar field and
Relevant experience in working with young adults in a Tertiary Education
Environment
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:-
Ensuring that student residences are managed efficiently;
Ensuring that an environment conducive to study and learning is maintained in
student residences
Enforcing both Ordinance 30 and Code of Conduct for Student residences;
Ensuring quality provision of meals and all support services to students in Student
Residences;
Efficient supervision of Student Development Resident Officers;
Ensuring transparent and efficient allocation of accommodation to students
Keeping and maintaining an accurate record of all students in campus and off campus
accommodation;
Facilitating transport services for non-resident students and those learning at various
facilities off-campus;
Carrying out any other duties as delegated by the Dean of Students
1.4 Officer: Postgraduate and International Student Support Services (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
The positon requires an individual with:-
Bachelor`s degree in Education or Social Sciences with a bias in Administration
A Master`s degree will be an added advantage
Experience in working in a Tertiary Education environment with young adults and
ability to network with international corporate organisations both in the Private and
Public Sector
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:-
Providing support service to international students
Advising students on immigration regulations
Preparing legal documents that allow international students to gain study and work
experience through a period of practical training
Providing information required by international students to settle and integrate into
the local environment
Processing legal documents required for the admission of international students
Organising orientation programs for entering international undergraduate and
graduate students
Organising cultural exchange programs for students
Marketing the institution by providing prospective students with information about
the University
Providing psychosocial support services for international and postgraduate students
Coordinating provision of accommodation services for international students
Mediating in handling of grievances procedures
Coordinating and facilitating funding and support
Planning recreational services and facilities
Handling safety and security issues
Performing any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students
1.5 Student Development Officer: Off Campus Residence (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
The positon requires an individual with:-
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Social Sciences with bias in Administration.
Experience in working in a Tertiary Education environment with young adults and
ability to network with the corporate organisations both in the Private and Public
Sector will be an advantage.
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:-
Coordinating accommodation application processes between students and private
service providers.
Compiling and administering the database of all accommodation service providers.
Planning and monitoring 0f logistical services of non-residents students.
Mediating in grievances between tenants and service providers.
Monitoring general welfare of non-residents students.
Administering all other support services of non-resident students
Linking students with registered accommodation service providers.
Carrying out any other duties assigned by the Dean of Students.
