Job Description
Main Responsibilities
Undertake the SIE activities as assigned by the SIE Manager which includes Technical SIE Support to SIEM, research protocol formulation, data analysis and manuscript writing.
Program Performance Monitoring
With guidance from SIE Manager, the assistant will assist SIEM in the collection, reviewing and analysis of program related indicators as well as provide strategic information for ongoing program implementation and management.
The SI Assistant will assist the SIEM in performing routine data quality checks (timeliness, completeness, accuracy and consistency of district outputs) in MS Forms and DHIS2.
Assist data DSIEs and CSISAs in data entry into DHIS2 when needed.
Research and Knowledge Management
Generate research objectives, proposals, and manuscript writing.
Liaise with ethics authorities for ethical approval of research proposals.
Assist in archiving of program documents and success stories.
Assist in routine and ad hoc data collection rounds.
Reporting
Assist in preparing regular field monitoring reports on activity implementation, progress made and provide appropriate feedback to SIEM.
Assist SIEM in follow-up of outstanding issues with the field teams to ensure data quality for the program and provide appropriate feedback to SIEM.
Requirements
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
A Degree in Health Sciences/Statistics
Data analysis software certification a distinct advantage
Excellent computer skills, Advanced Excel, MS Office and any Statistical Packages (R, STATA, SPSS)
Ability to stick to work deadlines.
Ability and willingness to travel occasionally.
