The Friendship Bench is evidence–based, mental health intervention developed in
Zimbabwe to bridge the mental health treatment gap. We value mental well-being and

and motivated individuals to fill the following post.
Position Summary:
The SIE Assistant will be responsible for implementing and maintaining data collection
tools and policies as advised by the lead office of the Friendship Bench organization. The
SIE Assistants work will work closely with Provincial Implementation Teams to improve
Friendship Bench program quality through enhanced data management systems and
processes. The SIE Assistant will support the SIE Manager in managing day to day SIE
tasks arising in the field, writing reports, tracking inventory, assisting in training
Friendship Bench and partner staff on new technologies, and maintaining transparent
data flow.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning
• Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting,
and statistically monitoring FB’s bucket performance.
• Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting
future milestones.
• Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain
current knowledge of plan executables, and respond to crises in accordance with
business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Liaise with the SIE officers and implementation teams to develop strategies necessary
for the effective management and organization of database systems that meet the data
requirements of the organization.
Data administration
• Take part in the designing and deployment of database systems that meet the specifications of the SIE department and Friendship bench key priority areas.
• Ensure the timely and accurate distribution of data to respective Implementation Teams
• Participate in regular data verification and audit exercises to assess the quality of data
reported and address any anomalies identified.
Monitoring & Evaluation
• Monitor the performance of their respective province, evaluating target reach and
indicators.
• Conduct regular data verifications for inconsistencies and communicate with the rightful
persons.
• Participation in schedule deployment for allowance distribution.
Technical meetings
• Participate and represent Friendship Bench in sector specific Technical Meetings with
Partners and or government of Zimbabwe Line Ministries
• Provide users with training on issues with database access, back-up, and recovery.
Work Conditions
– On call availability
– Domiciled in the respective Province/District
– Regular visits to rural setups as per need.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical and behavioral Attributes:
– Knowledge of Desktop Software being Microsoft 365 apps with great emphasis on
Excel.
– Certification/Diploma related to Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences or M&E and
Information Technology. A higher qualification will be an added advantage.
– Knowledge regarding data management and well -developed computer skills.
– Sensitivity to cultural differences and respect for confidentiality.
Preference will be given to:
– Persons residing in the chosen location.
– Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
– Strong written and oral communication skills. Speaks local language and English.
– Analytical problem and problem -solving abilities.
– Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high- pressure environment.
– Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and ability to work
under minimum supervision.
– At least one (1) year of experience
