Our client, a blue-chip multi-national company listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange is seeking a Sports Administrator to join their team. A key strategic objective for this individual is to establish a Sports Academy for the organisation.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop, recommend, and implement the overall sports strategy for the Academy.
Develop strategies and implement action around the various sporting disciplines.
Identifying talent and growing athletes to the highest level of sport at national, regional and international level.
Develop collaboration and strategic partnerships with sports organisations. (Sports and Recreation Commission, Zimbabwe Olympic Committee, National Sports Association Foundations, Corporate and Government Agencies)
Plan, organise and coordinate provincial, national, regional, and international level sporting events.
Establish and manage annual budgets for equipment, staffing and sporting facilities, including maintenance and repair.
Managing marketing and advertising of programmes and services.
Initiating and overseeing of fundraising activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Sports Administration or equivalent.
Prior experience in Sports Management at a Senior Level is mandatory for this position.
Skills & Attributes
A high degree of business acumen.
Commercial awareness and a professional approach
A strong interest in sport and an awareness of issues affecting the sports sector in Zimbabwe
Whilst sporting ability is not a prerequisite, however, an in-depth knowledge of the various sporting disciplines is required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Computer literacy skills.
