First Capital Bank Zimbabwe is a regional Consumer, Corporate & Investment Bank offering products and services across personal, corporate & investment banking, credit cards and wealth management, with a strong presence in the SADC region. As a Sourcing Governance Officer, you will be expected to determine the best sources of supplies for the Bank, track the supply usage for the Bank, analyse trends of use throughout the bank, research vendors that provide quality supplies at a fair price, negotiate contracts, establish quality standards for purchasing, organise the ordering and delivery of supplies and create strategies for long-term supply purchases that best suit the Bank.

Key Responsibilities

Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases
Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply contracts to save costs
Track incoming inventory, delivery arrival time, and note actual arrival time
Organize and update database of suppliers, delivery times, invoices, and quantity of supplies
Research and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers

Maintain vendor relationships, renew contractual agreements
Collaborate with financial team members on contracts, invoicing, and other financial matters
Sourcing of quality products and services coupled with efficient lead times
Adhering to socially responsible norms in respect of sourcing


University degree (2.1 or better) A degree in Supply Chain and Management would be an added advantag
Certification in purchasing and supply is an added advantage.
Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, framework, and systems
Two (2) years previous experience as procurement officer or related position
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Ability to analyse problems and strategize for better solutions

Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Accurate and precise attention to details
Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels
Goal-oriented, organized team player
