SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (1 Post)
Reporting to: Software Engineer
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or a related field from a recognised University.
- At least 2 years traceable post qualification experience as a software developer.
- Competence in Python programming, Linux, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
- Must have experience in NoSQL database such as MongoDB, working knowledge in Revision Control Systems such as GitHub
- Must be able to program in the Laravel framework or Django.
- Possess a portfolio of at least 5 projects
- Relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, test and implement new software programs.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using programming languages.
- Test and debug software to ensure functionality and fix errors.
- Collaborate with teams (developers, business analysts, QA testers) on projects.
- Maintain and update software to improve performance and add features.
- Document code and processes for future reference and maintenance.
- Deploy software to production environments and monitor its performance.
- Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and development methodologies.
- Optimize software performance for scalability and reliability.
- Ensure software security by implementing best practices and testing.
- Adhere to coding standards, design patterns, and industry best practices.
- Any other duty as assigned by the ITS Director
