SHE OFFICER – GRADE E
Delta Beverages is the name behind Lagers, Sparkling Beverages, Maheu and Sorghum Beer manufacturing, marketing and distribution in Zimbabwe. An exciting opportunity has arisen for ambitious and highly motivated individuals to join this vibrant enterprise.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above position, which has arisen in the Lager Beer Business. The incumbent will be based at Southerton Plant Harare.
THE JOB
Reporting to the SHE Manager the successful applicant will be, among other key challenging aspects, responsible for:
- Leading the business in the implementation of Safety, Health and Environmental policies and standards.
- Developing and maintaining SHE system documentation.
- Initiating reports to NSSA for all statutory reportable accidents, and all statutory environmental incidents/accidents to the Environmental Management Agency and ensuring availability and compliance with all required permits/licenses.
- Internal reporting and investigation of incidents, accidents, and environmental events to prevent recurrence.
- Periodically testing emergency preparedness equipment and reporting on its performance.
- Active participation in risk assessment activities, Plant meetings, inspections, audits, incident
management activities, and SHE management reviews. - Coordinating and conducting SHE training, including identifying training needs, facilitating development, and reviewing SHE training programs.
- Assisting and guiding the Plant team on the implementation of Risk Management, Behavior Based
- Safety, and Visible Felt Leadership principles.
- Budgeting and budgetary control.
- Monitoring and advising on control of environmental pollution and waste management.
- Compiling Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly reports.
THE PERSON
The ideal applicant should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A degree in Environmental Health Sciences/Occupational Health and Safety or related qualification.
- Possession of NEBOSH, SHATCOR or OSHEMAC Certificate is an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of SHE legislation, manufacturing and SHE systems and standards including Manway, NOSA CMB 253N, EOSH, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Knowledge of food processing and food hygiene, parasitology and pest control systems.
- At least 2 years’ experience preferably in a manufacturing or mining environment.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, problem solving, computer, facilitation and organising skills.
