Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) a subsidiary of ZESA HOLDINGS is the leading generator of electrical energy in Zimbabwe and supplies the bulk of the nation’s electrical power requirements from Its five power stations. The company is inviting suitably qualified, motivated and experienced staff to fill the above vacancy that has arisen in Zimbabwe Power Company.
This is a critical position reporting to the Projects Manager. The key challenge in this position is to ensure the production and maintenance of health and safety programs and to conduct investigations of all accidents and near misses. Fixed Term Contract
DUTIES
Identifies and raises awareness of safety issues for the project.
Ensures production and maintenance of health and safety programs.
Carrying out routine or unplanned visits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and taking action to improve conditions.
Investigates accidents at work and complaints about poor standards of health and safety as well as identifying areas of negligence.
Advises on planning and licensing applications.
Monitors Contractor’s compliance to HSE guidelines requirements.
Identifies hazards and conducts Risk Assessments for critical activities.
Executes all activities in line with Integrated Management System requirements (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015).
REQUIREMENTS
A Degree in Environmental Health and Safety management or another relevant discipline
Membership of a recognized professional institution
2 years relevant experience Experience in heavy industry
