The Zimbabwe Senior Women’s National Team is seeking for a qualified, dynamic, and experienced Head Coach to lead the Zimbabwean National Women’s Team. Based in Harare, the appointed individual will play a pivotal role in building a cohesive and competitive team, fostering a winning mentality, and driving player development.
MIGHTY WARRIORS HEAD COACH
Reporting to the General Secretary, the incumbent will be focusing on the development of young female players, in line with ZIFA’s emphasis on fostering a strong culture, identity, and environment within Zimbabwean football.
Basic Function
Leads coaching sessions, match day activities and all trainings for Zimbabwean women football, perfectly aligned with the team’s overarching goals and objectives.
Major Activities of the Job
Oversees all operational aspects of the women national football team and its development in line with agreed targets.
Plans and delivers comprehensive coaching programme that improves the performance and experience of the Zimbabwe Women’s Football team.
Implements high-performance coaching standards, game principles, game strategies and review processes.
Monitors the transition of players through player pathway.
Collaborates with the women’s Technical Team on the identification and recruitment of players into the women’s team, aligned with the Association talent identification strategy.
Demonstrates forward-thinking approach to undertake self-development in all aspects of coaching and leadership.
Possess strong background in football, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for developing women football at all levels.
Possess strong leadership, character development, strong communication and organizational skills.
Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of the skills and strategies of the Zimbabwean Woman’s game of football.
Oversees and organizes training plans and sessions as and when necessary.
Plans, delivers, and reviews all training sessions and fixtures for the Women’s First Team.
Leads and manages multidisciplinary programmes for the Women’s National Team, encompassing coaching, medical, sports science, analysts, and support teams.
Collaborates closely with clubs to build a strong and inspired Zimbabwe Woman’s National team.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum CAF “B” Licence qualification.
Other Coaching Licences from other continents must possess a Pro Licence.
A minimum of five years of coaching experience at the top tier of women’s league football and/ or with national teams.
A proven track record of success at both club and international levels is highly.
Knowledge of technical and tactical components of successful football strategies, tactics, and techniques appropriate to the team and player’s stage of development.
Growth mind-set and strong evidence of continued professional development.

A clear understanding of football tactics, formations, and strategies.
Capacity to inspire and motivate players.
Strong man-management and conflict-resolution skills.
Proficiency in analysing matches, both live and through footage, for fixture preparation.
Ability to scout for talent, recruit, and monitor players for the national team.
Fundamental ability to treat players and technical team with respect and dignity.
Solid ethical conduct and sound judgment skills.
