VACANCY – SENIOR MANAGER – BUSINESS RISK
ROLE PROFILE
Reporting to the Head Business Risk, the Senior Manager Business Risk, will be responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating potential risks that could impact the Bank’s financial well-being, reputation, or compliance with regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Overseeing the implementation of the agreed risk culture for the Bank.
Supporting risk awareness within the Bank.
Implementing the Risk Strategy for the Bank.
Periodic review of all key risks, the respective key risk indicators, their source, and respective mitigation strategies.
Coordinating research on emerging and current key risks faced by the Bank.
Preparing ad hoc reports on critical risk developments for management consideration.
Providing independent oversight and expert advice on risk acceptance in the Bank.
Tracking and follow-ups of issues raised by Internal Audit.
Developing and maintaining risk registers for all key risks.
Coordinating Risk participation and review results of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Tracking and recommending review of policies and procedures in line with evolution of risks.
Preparing and coordinating budgeting and budgetary activities for the Department.
Coordination of resource mobilisation and efficient utilisation within the Department.
Supervise staff.
Overseeing staff development and training programs.
Job Skills and Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel computer application and appreciation of other modelling software.
Ability to work across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills using common software and packages.
Strong data analytical and interpretation skills.
Qualifications and Experience
A Degree in Banking and Finance/Accounting/Mathematics/Risk & Insurance/ or equivalent.
A Postgraduate qualification such as a Masters Degree in relevant disciplines will be an added advantage.
5 years of relevant working experience in a risk environment preferably in a bank at a managerial level.
