Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the above position which has arisen at the Women’s University in Africa, Harare campus
The Senior Assistant Registrar, Human Resources and Administration reports to the Deputy Registrar, Human Resources and Administration.
Responsibilities
Assisting in the recruitment, selection, placement and tenure of employees;
Maintaining staff records including the generation of staff statistics and continuous updating of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS);
Handling matters related to staff discipline and labour relations;
Enforcing the University’s Code of Conduct as well as all other HR policies and procedures;
Identifying and assessing training and development needs of staff and facilitating training programmes;
Assisting in the training and development of members of staff;
Administering payroll and staff benefits (checks and balances);
Facilitating the performance appraisal and promotion of staff;
Assisting in the implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures, including drafting of new policies and initiating the review of existing policies;
Liaising with other comparable institutions so as to ensure the University offers competitive conditions of service;
Providing counselling services to staff;
Supervising junior staff in the department;
Servicing University Committees; and
Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Deputy Registrar, Human Resources and Administration.
Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Psychology from a reputable university;
Diploma in Human Resources Management/Human Resources Development/Training Management/Industrial Relations from a reputable examination board such as IPMZ or HEXCO is a must;
A Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management or Occupational Psychology from a reputable university will be an added advantage;
At least two (2) years post qualification experience doing human resources management related work in a reputable organisation; and
Experience gained working in a university environment will be an added advantage.
