SECURITY DEPARTMENT
SECURITY SERGEANT (1 POST)
The primary objective is the security and safety of staff, students and visitors; animals (any University animals, e.g. livestock, birds or any other as defined by the University); plant life within the University premises; property (movable, immovable), materials, stock and products of the University.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervision of junior staff.
Maintaining law and order, preserving peace, protecting life and property from malicious damage.
Patrol the area of jurisdiction with a view to prevent crime, detect any criminal occurrences and apprehend offenders.
Regulate access to University and Innovation & Agro- Industrial Park entry and exit points and ensuring that only staff, registered students, bona fide visitors and stakeholders enter the premises.
To ensure that University and Innovation & Agro- Industrial Park property leaving the premises has the requisite authority by conducting searches on all persons and vehicles leaving the campus/ premises.
Maintain an occurrence book and report to management on any irregularities within the premises.
Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Desired Qualifications and Experience
Applications should have at least 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language plus Certificate in Security or proof of having received training in security operations from reputable accredited institutions.
At least three (3) years relevant experience as a Security Guard in a reputable organisation.
No criminal record, basic appreciation of the criminal laws of Zimbabwe, be mature and should also have knowledge of firearm handling.
Knowledge of closed-circuit television (CCTV) monitoring and radio communication is an added advantage.
