Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Security and Loss Manager – Operations, the Security and Loss Control Officer is responsible for providing logistical support to security operations, coordinating movements, and ensuring the effective deployment of security personnel while maintaining compliance with security regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Assist in formulating security strategies and policies to safeguard the organisation.
- Assist in developing departmental budgets and overseeing resource allocation.
- Managing security assets and ensuring efficient utilisation.
- Conducting security risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Implementing loss control policies.
- Assist in designing and recommending security systems for the Council.
- Conduct investigations related to security breaches and losses.
- Coordinating escort services and security logistics for the Council.
- Assist in overseeing question paper development and examination security processes.
- Ensuring compliance with legislation governing protected areas.
- Supervising disaster and fire management initiatives.
- Implementing a security intelligence framework.
Qualifications and Experience

- A Bachelor’s degree in Police Studies, Security Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Police Studies, Security Management, or Risk Management is an added advantage.
- At least three years of post-qualification experience in security administration.
- Experience at the rank of a Sergeant, Warrant Officer, or higher within reputable security organisations such as the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Zimbabwe National Army, or Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services is an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong coordination skills to ensure the safety of personnel and assets.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Specialized training in security management.
- Knowledge of public administration and criminal justice principles.
