An exciting opportunity exists for a Sales Manager to join the Mukuru team in Zimbabwe.
The main purpose of this role is to manage the full corporate services function for the SMH operation.
The Sales Manager reports directly to the Country Manager. This position is responsible for growing and developing the SMH marketing, sales and customer base and to maintain relationships with partners in order to provide ongoing support. The role is also responsible for identifying new business opportunities. They are responsible for managing the overall effectiveness of the sales team, as well as managing the sales support and administration functions that enable the entire sales team to perform optimally. The Sales Team Leads, VAS Lead, Partner Relationship Management Leads and Lead Verifiers all report directly to this position.
Internal Liaison takes place with all internal staff. External liaison takes place with all 3rd parties.
Duties and Responsibilities include (but is not limited to):
Develop and implement a sales development Roadmap in order to grow sales
Ensure the Roadmap aligns to company strategic objectives
Track progress and take corrective action when required
Identify innovative ways to increase sales and conversions
Identify ways to increase lead generation
Identify B2B and B2P selling opportunities
Carry out budget planning and forecasting for the corridors and Sales Team Leads
Create an effective Sales Agent organizational design
Ensure targets are set and monitored
Custodianship of the Mukuru brand and maintenance of the Mukuru brand standard
To identify and make recommendations for opportunities to grow the Mukuru brand within Zimbabwe
To monitor competitor and customer actions and to identify opportunities and weaknesses
To oversee execution of marketing initiatives
Conduct regular site visits in various locations
Obtain feedback from the team regarding customer information received
Analyse market trends and incorporate in sales plan for different regions
Remain up to date with all Mukuru products and services to promote additional sales
For new partners, act as the in-country go-between for Mukuru Project Management and the Partner to ensure that the service is implemented as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Create and maintain a view of the organisational structure of Partners – key players/positions and contact details, relationships between players, as well as levels of influence and decision-making.
Contact external partners to build rapport and establish any needs:
– Regular accounts: at least every 3 months
– Key accounts: every 2 months
Conduct regular meetings with partners (new and existing) and facilitate remote conferencing between Mukuru Group and Mukuru Zimbabwe
Maintain open communication channels with partners
Ensuring buy-in from Partners on any system/legal/commercial adjustments
Understand the competitive landscape in country, informing Head of New Business Development and the Head of Commercial of potential opportunities and material developments.
Identifying potential partners and updating Business Development and Commercial on the opportunity.
Conduct initial pitches, ensure NDA’s are signed,
Act as liaison with Legal and the Business Development team, get the potential partner through the Negotiation and Contracting phase, and ready them for the Project Initiation.
Managing the onboarding of the partner.
Liaise with the Sales Team Lead daily to be aware of issues and concerns
Oversees the duties of the Sales Team Lead to ensure work is done effectively and efficiently and targets met
Provides support/guidance to the team and resolves general problems on an ongoing basis and provides advice/support/information
Communicates relevant information to individuals/ teams through various communication mediums
Ensure Sales Team Lead communicate, guide and coach their teams
Ensure all Sales Team Lead provide assistance and resources to their teams to ensure effective training is provided to all sales staff
Manage the Verifications team
Oversees that all verifications are actioned timeously and accurately
Production of quarterly business review
Act as the company ears and eyes on the ground all record all relevant information
Collate all relevant information in the correct report template and submit reports
Attend own monthly KPI meeting with Country Manager
Prepare for and attend bi-annual performance meeting with Country Manager
Attend all required training courses for new products
Hold monthly progress discussions with team members
Prepare for and hold bi-annual KPI meeting with each team member
Coach and mentor staff when required
Ensure adherence to HR and IR policies and procedures (including leave approvals etc.)
Key Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
Related tertiary qualification in Business (Essential)
10 years sales or sales operation experience (Essential)
5 years Management experience (Essential)
Knowledge of Mukuru products and services
Knowledge of sales and marketing principles
Knowledge of FICA and
KYC regulations
Knowledge Sales Team functions
Knowledge of marketing collateral generation
Knowledge of payments and remittance landscape
Knowledge of operating license requirements
