Key Purpose.
Managing of multiple brands/portfolios with sales and marketing functions for a Business Unit
ensuring achievement of quantity and quality objectives to contribute to the overall achievement
of the SBU strategic objectives.
Key Outputs and Accountabilities.
- Developing and capacitating key distributors to deliver on their mandate to provide goods to
the mainstream consumer by driving effective coverage and distribution. - Managing the distributive trade channel across the country ensuring availability of the right
product assortment at the right channel at the right price. - Growing distribution and penetration across the Principal’s relevant store universe.
- Developing and managing the performance of subordinates in achievement of agreed strategy,
business plans and budgets. - Managing sales and marketing objectives in line with strategic objectives.
- Negotiating pricing modules with major accounts in line with agreed pricing strategies.
- Quality controlling and approving all marketing and promotional activity being conducted for
the SBU. - Assessing suitability of potential new business partners and negotiating payment terms and
structures. - Liaising with major accounts.
- Assisting finance department in the collection of outstanding funds from debtors.
- Developing and implementing system for feedback and corrective action on all systems.
Requirements.
- Must have sound knowledge of the FMCG business.
- Must have experience in handling large portfolios and key distributors within the FMCG sector.
- Degree in Sales & Marketing or related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a FMCG environment with distributive trade channel knowledge.
- Strong proven ability in leadership and management in leading and motivating teams.
