Guava Africa is a fast-growing digital payments platform revolutionising financial access and inclusion across Zimbabwe. We are seeking a Sales Executive to drive growth through strategic partnerships, market expansion, and merchant onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Business Growth & Opportunity Development
    • Identify and engage high-potential merchants, agents, and partners across sectors (retail, SMEs, agriculture, informal trade).
    • Expand Guava Africa’s market share within the digital and mobile payments ecosystem.
    • Conduct market research and landscape analysis to guide outreach and strategy.
  2. Strategic Partnerships & Relationship Management
    • Build and manage relationships with financial institutions (e.g. CBZ, Stanbic, NMB), mobile money providers (e.g. EcoCash, OneMoney, InnBucks), and aggregators.
    • Engage with regulators (RBZ, POTRAZ) and industry stakeholders to ensure compliance and collaboration.
  3. Strategy Development & Execution
    • Design and implement go-to-market strategies, including promotional campaigns and merchant acquisition drives.
    • Support product expansion into cross-border payments, bulk disbursements, and bill payment services.
  4. Deal Negotiation & Partnership Management
    • Lead deal negotiations with financial institutions, merchants, and service providers.
    • Manage ongoing partner relationships to ensure satisfaction, retention, and value delivery.
  5. Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis
    • Monitor fintech trends, regulatory updates, and competitor activity (e.g. EcoCash, ZimSwitch, PayNow).
    • Provide strategic recommendations to position Guava Africa competitively.
  6. Performance Reporting & Insights
    • Prepare regular reports on pipeline activity, performance metrics, and business outcomes.
    • Use data insights to refine strategies and improve partner and merchant engagement.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in business development, sales, or account management within fintech, banking, telecommunications, or digital payments.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Banking, or Information Systems from a recognized institution (e.g. University of Zimbabwe, Midlands State University, NUST, Africa University, or an equivalent).
  • Professional certifications in sales, fintech, or project management (e.g. CIM, CIMA, Fintech Certifications) are an added advantage.

  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Zimbabwe’s digital payments and mobile money ecosystem.
  • Results-driven with a proven track record of meeting sales targets.
  • Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
