Job Description
Job purpose
The Research & Development Developer is expected to research and experiment with the cutting-edge software application tools and programming languages that yields bespoke solutions in alignment with the DSP strategy. Translates user stories, business challenges and performs development activities, including the design, prototyping, implementation, testing and documentation of software modules for backend and/or frontend developments.
Key Responsibilities
Researches and provides input for software application development in line with the Architecture standards.Utilizes available software application frameworks based on the trending standards.Researches and develops innovation prototypes that enable automation of processes and reduce operational costs.Provides input to Architects on benchmarking of tools for software development and propose best fit platforms, forums, or communities to enable faster deployment of quality and secure software applications.Researches and experiments with the cutting-edge software applications tools and programming languages that yields bespoke solutions in alignment with the DSP strategy.Collaborates with Architects, Management, Departments, and Customers to identify business challenges and develop new innovations to solve the challenges.
Develops intuitive algorithms and process flows to meet the requirements for prototype software development in alignment with Applications architectural designs.Provides an evaluation of the impact of innovations on the ecosystem and monetary benefits.Responds innovatively to assigned business problems assigned for commercial deployment of all successful MVPs and ensures fitness for market adoption.Actively participates in the testing of all software application products to ensure that all defects are closed and developed systems adhere to all business policies, security and technology standards.Evaluates integration infrastructure to keep in line with the rapid changes in technology and security threats
Qualification, Skills and Experience
6 O Levels Including Mathematics, Science and English.2 A Level passesDegree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Programming and Development, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent.2 to 4 years’ experience in a similar or related environment.Proficiency in developing web applications and other types of softwareUp-to-date knowledge of different programming languages, such as Kotlin, Dart, Java, JavaScript and others.Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
Experience in developing user interfacesExperience working with Angular and React frameworks.Knowledge of Test-Driven DevelopmentExperience working within an Agile software development environmentDetail oriented with an ability to quickly identify and solve programming errorsExperience in use of modern enterprise graphic design tools will be an added advantage
