National Pathology Research and Diagnostic Centre
Research and Innovation Manager (1Post)
Qualifications and experience
MSc / MPhil degree in Medical Biotechnology/Vaccinology/Microbiology or equivalent
BSc degree in Biotechnology/Vaccinology/Biochemistry or equivalent
A PhD or DPhil will be an added advantage
Evidence of publications in peer reviewed journals
At least 5 years experience of working in a research institution
Duties and Responsibilities
Managing overall research laboratory operations.
Strategic planning for drug discovery, diagnostic method development and vaccine production research.
Tending to administrative and management matters.
Consulting with researchers and principal investigators.
Laboratory budgeting.
Key Attributes
Knowledge and experience of local ethical procedures (MRCZ/MCAZ).
Knowledge of and experience in either vaccine production, diagnostic test development or drug discovery.
Evidence of publications in peer reviewed journals.
Must possess data analysis skills. Knowledge of SPSS and STATA a must.
Ability to manage a portfolio of projects.
Ability to develop collaborative agreements to support commercialisation of innovation.
Ability to supervise research students.
