JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to support the registration of mass media services and the accreditation of media practitioners, in line with mandate of the Zimbabwe Media Commission. The role also includes maintaining accurate and up-to-date registers of both media entities and practitioners.
DUTIES
- Facilitate the registration process for mass media services.
- Process applications for the accreditation of media practitioners.
- Maintain and regularly update the official register of media services and accredited practitioners.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, laws, and ethical standards governing the media sector.
- Provide accurate and timely information to stakeholders as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- A diploma in Media Studies, Mass Communication, Social Sciences, or a related field is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in any of the above disciplines will be considered an added advantage.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a media regulatory or administrative environment.
- Proficiency in database management and record-keeping systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of the media landscape, including media ethics, media law, and regulatory frameworks.
- Awareness of global media structures and trends.
