RECREATION ORGANIZER COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for appointment to the
post of Recreation Organizer Community Development in the Housing and Social Services
Department.

Grade : 6
Reporting To : Social Services and Recreation Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
5 ‘O’ levels including English language with a Grade C or better.
At least a Diploma in Community Development, Development Studies, Sociology, or
other relevant degree.
At least 2 years post-qualification experience in a related field.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement a wide range of community development activities and
programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of the community in the City of
Masvingo.
Collaborate with local community organizations, schools, and residents to identify
community needs and interests.
Promotes health and nutrition education, as well as income-generating activities among
women and youth in the community.
Coordinate and schedule various community events, such as festivals, fairs, and cultural
celebrations.
Recruit and train volunteers to assist in the planning and execution of community
programs and events.
Conduct outreach efforts to promote community engagement and participation in
recreational activities.
Evaluate the effectiveness of community programs and activities, and make
recommendations for improvement.
Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
