Applications are invited for suitably qualified candidates to fill in the post of:

QUALITY CONTROL ANALYTICAL CHEMIST / VALIDATION CHEMIST (1 post)

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Perform Chemical tests on raw materials.
  • Analyse intermediates, bulk and finished products.
  • Analyse retention samples and products on stability.
  • Prepare, store and monitor Laboratory reagents.
  • Prepare and standardise volumetric solutions.
  • Certify secondary standards and working standards.
  • Operate, maintain, verify and calibrate laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Perform method validation, cleaning validation and process validation.
  • Stocktake of materials and reagents.
  • Ensure GLP and GMP requirements are adhered to.
  • Participate in internal audits and external audits by regulatory authorities.
  • Participate in meetings.
  • Participate in documentation initiation, review, control and storage.
  • Generating and filing of analytical reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five Ordinary level passes in one sitting (NO SUBSTITUTE CERTIFICATION)
  • BSC Degree in Chemical Technology, Applied Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or
    equivalent.
  • Hands on experience in the following equipment and techniques, HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FT-IR,
    Karl Fischer, AAS
  • Knowledge of cGMP and cGLP and at least 1 year after graduation experience in the
    pharmaceutical manufacturing Quality Control Laboratory.
  • Validation background will be an added advantage.
