Reports to: Development Coordinator
Purpose of the Job: The purpose of this job is coordinating the project team and activities with a gender, social and economic empowerment lens guided by the project documents
Reporting: Writing monthly narrative reports for timely submission to the Development Coordinator, District and supporting donor.

Overall responsibility
Responsible for all field activities and engagement with local authorities to ensure smooth implementation of the project. Collation of reports for different audiences and engagement with fund management staff.
Job Description for Project Officer SAFE Project
Coordinates and implements of the Stopping Abuse and Female Exploitation (SAFE) Project Prevention Pillars to end Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) in the Chikomba District’s using GALS/TOOSE methodology.
Conducts on-going training and mentoring of local leaders, communities, and key stakeholders on the (SAFE) program as well as providing refresher trainings based on emerging gaps and needs
Set up and train GALS/TOOSE champions, Peer Facilitators, Field Agents, Change Catalysts, Community Influencers and ISALS participants on TOOSE/GALS methodology
Ensure the development of tools, systems, and approaches that continuously improve technical excellence and impact in transformative approaches to women’s economic empowerment.
Ensures the adherence to Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) core principles and Safeguarding standards
Compiles and submits reports with analysed data on gender to Supervisor
Coordinate with all stakeholders involved.
Conduct quantitative/qualitative assessments in targeted communities to assess effectiveness and impact of SAFE interventions.
Ensure gender equality and women’s economic empowerment criteria are well integrated into market-systems approaches.
Provide substantive inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts
Facilitate and support a strong learning and knowledge sharing community around gender-transformative practices amongst delivery partners.
Budget monitoring and tracking
Supervision of SAFE project team members

Person Specifications
The requirements listed below are representatives of the knowledge skills and abilities required to perform this job successfully.
Individuals must be able to perform each essential duty to satisfaction
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Gender studies, or related field
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working on gender issues, Demonstrated experience with gender integration in development programming.
Experience in monitoring and evaluation is an added advantage.
Communication Skills – Excellent oral communicator when networking and consulting with such a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent written communication skills are required because of the need for regular progress reporting. Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences. Strong English command is essential.
Ability to work with a diverse team
Driver’s license a must with ability to drive a manual transmission 4×4 vehicle in rough terrain.
