A local faith-based organization involved in development, advocacy and humanitarian work seeks to fill the following vacant position(s)
Project Assistant x 1 (Bulilima and Mangwe)
Purpose of the position
The Project Assistant is mainly responsible for planning, and implementation of El Nino response activities.
Duties;
Conduct community mobilization
Identification, registration and verification of beneficiaries for food/cash transfer
Facilitate the distribution of food/cash transfers
Conduct post distribution monitoring
Identify and strengthen community referral pathways for gender-based violence
Facilitate gender and protection trainings and awareness campaigns for project beneficiaries
and local interfaith leaders
Conduct site visits and assessment of boreholes
Prepare bill of quantities for borehole repair and rehabilitation materials
Facilitate the rehabilitation of boreholes
Training of Water Point Management Committees on maintenance and management of
boreholes
Facilitate livelihoods training focusing on livestock restoration, season preparedness, early
warning signs, internal savings and landings, soil and water conservation
Setting up and managing community feedback and accountability mechanisms
Compile and submit project reports to the supervisor as required
Collect Stories of Change
Engage with community leaders and project participants in rolling out project activities
Support stakeholder coordination activities
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Desired Qualifications, technical skills and experience
Bachelors Degree in A g r i c u l t u r e , Food Security, N a t u r a l R e s o u r c e s
M a n a g e m e n t , E n v i r o n m e n t a l S t u d i e s , D e v e l o p m e n t Studies
and other related fields
At least 2 years of traceable experience in food/cash assistance programs, WASH and livelihoods
programs
Strong coordination experience with technical government departments
Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel for long period of time in
difficult terrain, harsh and demanding conditions
Ability to ride a motorbike, class 4 drivers’ license an advantage
Good engagement skills with local leaders and beneficiaries
Ability to speak local languages an added advantage (Kalanga and Ndebele)

Remuneration
Remuneration and other benefits will be disclosed and negotiated with selected candidates.
Start Date: Successful applicant is expected to start with immediate effect.
