Action for Youth Foundation Trust is a registered not-for-profit, non-governmental organization that seeks to create a safe and conducive violent-free environment for Youths living with HIV, Orphans and Vulnerable Children and Youths in Key & Vulnerable Populations in Zimbabwe.
Action for Youth Foundation Trust is looking for a Programs Assistant who will be supporting the Programs Coordinator in implementing Action for Youth Foundation Trust’s Drug & Substance Abuse Prevention activities under the Churches & Communities Initiative at voluntary basis.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Training of students, religious leaders, teachers and communities on the effects of drug & substance abuse.
- Facilitating during community dialogues on effects of drug and substance abuse.
- Attending training and disseminating feedback to the program staff.
- Report writing after activities.
- Providing counseling and referral services to Young People who use drugs.
- Assisting the Programs Coordinator in preparing workplans and budgets.
- Finance requests, program execution, and liquidation in accordance with the organization’s finance procedures and timelines.
- Assisting in facilitating Stakeholder engagement on drug risk reduction and policing.
- Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least a Degree in Social Work or Psychology or any other social science is a must.
- At least 2 years of experience working with an organization that provides support to the Young People who Use Drugs.
- CPD Certificate in Mental Health Counseling or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Recent graduates are the most preferred.
