About
Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) is a not-for-profit human development organisation which is registered as a Trust under the Zimbabwe Deeds Registries Act (Chapter 20:05). ZHI’s mission is to develop and deliver innovative and sustainable high impact integrated health interventions with local communities while working with and strengthening existing institutions.
The Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe women (DREAMS) Program aims to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among OVC, OVC caregivers and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Zimbabwe. The DREAMS program is being implemented in priority high HIV burden districts in Zimbabwe. ZHI’s primary role is to deliver a comprehensive curriculum on HIV prevention, gender norms and social asset building targeted at AGYW in school, out of school and their sexual partners at community level. ZHI’s core thrust in the DREAMS Program is to keep girls and young women HIV Free through supporting them to; Stay in school; Prevent early pregnancies; Prevent sexual violence; Access Post violence care; Reduce child marriage. DREAMS provides a comprehensive, multi-sectoral package of core interventions to address key factors that make girls and young women particularly vulnerable to HIV. These include structural factors, such as gender-based violence, exclusion from economic opportunities, and a lack of access to secondary school. DREAMS layers multiple interventions at once so that AGYW are surrounded with critical support to keep them safe from HIV and other risks.
Basic Function
The Program Graduate Intern will report to the Program Assistant and supports him/her to manage project operations, administration, finances, and logistics. The Graduate Intern ensures program filing-both hard and soft copies of program documents, reports, MoUs, Contracts and other important program documents. Must have good record maintenance skills. The Graduate intern familiarizes him/herself with ZHI operations and supports the Program Assistant to process and track program procurements. The Graduate Intern will support the Program Assistant to organize the DREAMS-RISE Project meetings with national and districts staff, sub-partners, and stakeholders.
Job Description
Provide program and administrative support to the program team in the preparation of various program documents, such as work plans, budgets, reports and proposals on program implementation arrangements; Under the guidance of the supervisor, assemble briefing materials and prepare power-point and other presentations for the program unit; Identify sources, and gather and compile data and information for the preparation of documents, guidelines, and other material as required; Assist the program team in reviewing and preparing documentation on the procurement of goods and services, and support contract tracking; Provide administrative support to the program team in the organization of events, meetings and workshops, etc.; Make travel arrangements for the program team and project staff, including preparation of travel requisitions and claims; Draft non-substantive correspondence; Maintain and organize up-to-date hard and electronic files for easy access and retrieval. Ensure safekeeping of confidential materials; Create and maintain files of correspondence/documents and electronically received information and ensure up-to- date filing. Maintain both hardcopies and electronic copies of the office records and reference files on various subjects; Prepare presentation material/slides in Power-point for presentations for the meetings/workshops and keep all papers ready for meetings.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Ability to plan and prioritize own work under tight deadlines as well as to work on own initiative and as a member of a team; Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality; Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows/Office environment.
Qualifications And Experience
Recent graduate holding a degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or equivalent; At least a year of work-related learning experience; Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and projects to meet deadlines; Work related learning experience in an NGO or developmental sector is required. Being a DREAMS beneficiary is a distinct advantage.
