Reporting to the Program Area Manger and have a direct working relationship with the Youth Economic Empowerment Technical Lead the incumbent will be providing technical guidance and support to partners working under the Promoting Sustainable Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment (PSYEE) project.
- Operations and Program Management
- Provide technical support for design and implementation of the Promoting Sustainable Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment project in line with overall Plan Zimbabwe strategy and objectives
- Facilitate skills development and mentoring of project partners in gender transformative approaches.
- Support local implementing partner in developing innovative approaches that will identify and address the challenges that marginalized youth face in accessing economic and social resources in preparation for sustainability.
- Manage the internal and external relationships of the program to facilitate smooth program delivery
- Provide appropriate technical support in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project.
- Knowledge Management and Learning
- Work collaboratively with project team to maintain a ‘knowledge hub’ for the project that will meet the information needs of the identified audiences.
- Build a well-curated database for learnings from evaluations, intervention reports, and other relevant information; ensure that users can navigate and upload or retrieve information quickly.
- Work collaboratively with the Communications team to support content management on the project and other information-sharing platforms; perform regular analytics to monitor utilisation and enhance user.
- Contribute to the deployment of appropriate, gender sensitive and inclusive community feedback mechanisms, ensuring processes are in place for timely and adequate analysis and response.
- Work with the MERL Team to ensure that strategies for monitoring, evaluation and learning are fully integrated into all of our activities and that lessons learned are incorporated into the design of new projects and funding windows.
- Support generation of project reports in line with donor requirements.
- Ensure quality programme reporting together with Plan’s Grants, Finance and M&E departments
- Represent the project in relevant fora together with partners and young people
- Monitor expenses against approved budget ensuring timely utilization of funds and compliance with donor requirements.
- Generate accurate, quality and relevant donor reports as required by the project
- Ensure appropriate administrative, financial and logistical Plan systems/procedures are in place, maintained and adhered to so that all support functions are carried out effectively and efficiently.
- Logistics, Finance and Administration
- Familiarity with donor compliance issues, ensuring the project is compliant with these and Plan procedures.

- Responsible for the preparation of projected expenditures quarterly.
- Overall responsibility of the project financial management in line with approved project proposal.
- Safeguarding, Gender Incusion and Equality
- Ensure that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy, including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes but is not limited to ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies, and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Knowledge
- A degree in Social Sciences or related field with experience working with local civil society and coalitions to drive national agenda on children/girls’ rights.
- A minimum of 5 years community development exposure coordinating development programs and implementing partners at a supervisor level.
- Knowledge of and interest in youth economic empowerment policies.
- Appreciation of rights based approaches to development and civil society strengthening.

- Good knowledge of current girls’ rights issues/activities and systems.
