The University seeks to recruit applicants with requisite qualifications, skills and experience for
the following posts in the Faculty of Communication and Information Science: –
Applicants must possess a minimum of an earned Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Journalism
and/or Media Studies, Communication Studies or related area from a recognised university.
Applicants must also have a good Masters degree in the above fields and must have attained a
2.1 at undergraduate level. In addition, applicants must have at least 5 years’ teaching
experience at an institution of higher learning. The applicant must also provide evidence of
having supervised PhD students. In addition, the applicant must have published a
considerable number of journal articles in peer-reviewed journals and books or book chapters.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach postgraduate students, supervise Masters
and PhD dissertations. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to provide
academic leadership and guide the department in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship,
business development and university service.
