Qualifications and Experience
The candidate must have attained a Master’s Degree in Crop Science, Horticulture,
or related field or its equivalent with a Merit or better. A Bachelor’s Degree in Crop
Science, Horticulture, or any related field is a must. A PhD in Crop Science,
Horticulture, or any related field is a distinct advantage. University teaching
experience is an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to provide academic leadership to the
Department, guide and contribute to basic and applied research, innovation and
industrialisation programmes in the Department as well as teach the following
courses at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level: Plant Propagation and Nursery
Management, Crop production in protected environments, Hydroponics, and
Greenhouse Technology. In addition, the candidate will be expected to coordinate
and participate in the supervision of Undergraduate and Postgraduate research
students. University teaching experience is an added advantage.
