Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to be considered for engagement in the above-mentioned challenging position that has arisen within the Institution. The position is based at Head Office.

The incumbent will be responsible for the Entity’s procurement planning and coordination in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act Chapter 22:23. As head of the Procurement Management Unit, the primary responsibilities include:

DUTIES
Facilitating the formulation of the entity’s procurement policies and strategic planning for the Procurement Department.
Advising management and the Procurement Management Unit on procurement and asset disposal matters providing technical guidance/support.
Oversight of the procurement of goods and services for the entity in line with the procurement regulations.
Supervising the development of procurement contracts, negotiations and contract management ensuring that the entity has valid procurement contracts.
Preparing bid documents and coordinating bid processes in compliance with the provisions of procurement regulations.
Liaising with the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe on procurement issues to ensure the Institution adheres to the relevant statutes
Overall management of the stores section
Preparation of all required procurement reports.

REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Procurement /Supply Chain Management or equivalent
Masters in Supply Chain Management or equivalent
Membership to a Purchasing and Supply professional body
Minimum of 5 years working experience in Public Procurement of which 3 should be at managerial level.
Sound interpersonal and communication skills
Negotiation and analytical skills
Knowledge of key management and administrative practices in the public sector.
