Person Specification
Applicants must have at least a first degree and a Master’s degree in Supply Chain or any other related field.
A professional qualification will be a distinct advantage.
Five (5) or more years of procurement experience in a medium to large organization with at least two (2) years at management level.
Excellent communication skills across both internal and external stakeholders and astute leadership skills and ability to operate independently under pressure, and incisive delegation skills.
Duties
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, the Procurement Manager shall have the following key accountabilities:
Managing of the University procurement processes and systems in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Act (Chapter22:23).
Providing leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the University’s procurement processes;
Ensuring value for money, fairness, transparency and accountability in the University’s procurement processes;
Developing the University’s Procurement Plan and compile reports;
Ensuring the University’s compliance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Asserts Chapter 22:23) as guided by the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe;
Managing the bidding process including the evaluation of bids;
Any other related duties that may be assigned by the Vice Chancellor from time to time.
