TOWN PLANNING DEPARTMENT
PRINCIPAL TOWN PLANNER (SPATIAL PLANNING SECTION) – GRADE 12 (1 POST)
Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary
Heads the operations of one of the spatial Planning Sections.
Prepares statutory plans (Master Plans, Local Development Plans and layout plans).
Manages Traffic and Transportation Planning.
Formulates policies and by-laws to enhance land delivery, development control, traffic and transportation planning.
Prepares prohibition and enforcement orders.
Attends to public inquiries on planning matters.
Prepares and Coordinates preparation of reports for Assistant Director of Town Planning.
Prepares tender documents and adjudication.
Qualifications Requirements
A recognized University Degree in Urban Planning.
Must be a member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Regional and Urban Planners (ZIRUP).
A clean class 4 drivers’ licence.
3. Experience and skills
At least 5 year’s experience in a similar environment.
Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
