POSITION: PLUMBER
We are looking for a vibrant and dynamic individual to fill the above position. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing plumbing systems on a farm. This includes water supply systems for irrigation, livestock watering, drainage systems, and plumbing within farm buildings such as barns, greenhouses, and homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Install new plumbing systems for water supply, irrigation, livestock watering, and drainage within farm structures (e.g., barns, stables, greenhouses).
- Install water pipes, fixtures, pumps, valves, and other plumbing components.
- Set up irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage for crops or pastureland.
- Regularly inspect plumbing systems for wear and tear, leaks, and blockages.
- Repair and replace broken pipes, valves, faucets, and other plumbing components.
- Fix leaks and clogged pipes in water systems, livestock watering units, and drainage systems.
- Ensure that all plumbing systems comply with health and safety regulations.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with water pressure, leaks, or faulty plumbing equipment.
- Assess problems related to irrigation systems, water pumps, and drainage and recommend or perform necessary repairs.
- Maintain and repair irrigation systems, ensuring crops and plants are adequately watered.
- Set up, monitor, and repair automated irrigation systems.
- Ensure the water systems are efficient and sustainable, avoiding water waste.
- Install and maintain drainage systems to prevent flooding or waterlogging
- Manage waste water and sewage systems, particularly in areas where livestock are housed.
- Repair and maintain septic systems or sewage lines on the farm.
- Perform regular checks and maintenance on plumbing equipment such as water heaters, pumps, and filtration systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot water pressure regulators and other related machinery.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least a a Plumbing Certificate Class 1 Professional
- At least three (3) years hands on experience as a plumber
