Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Officer Reconciliations to join our team in Harare, Zimbabwe. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records through meticulous reconciliation processes.
Responsibilities and keys to success:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly account reconciliations for various financial accounts
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and maintain accurate reconciliation reports
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information and documentation
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in internal and external audits as needed
Qualifications
Requirements and skills needed for the role:
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-2 years in banking operations environment
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Understanding of financial regulations and compliance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Zimbabwean financial regulations and reporting requirements is a plus
